Dengie Fresh Bed for Chickens Chopped Treated Straw (100ltr Bale)

Create a clean, cozy, and health-supporting environment in your coop with Dengie Fresh Bed for Chickens (100 Litre Bale), available locally at Feed & Fleece—your premium supplier for poultry feed, smallholding supplies, and bedding in Cleckheaton.

Developed in collaboration with the British Hen Welfare Trust, this ultra-premium bedding is made from dust-extracted, chopped wheat straw. Specifically engineered for poultry care, it is treated with a natural pine oil blend to deliver an inhospitable environment for pests while keeping your coop smelling remarkably clean.

Why Choose Dengie Fresh Bed for Chickens?

Standard straw or cheap wood shavings can harbor dust, dampness, and external pests. Dengie Fresh Bed targets the specific challenges of backyard poultry keeping.

• Infused with Natural Pine Oil: Enhanced with real pine oil, providing safe, natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It keeps the nesting boxes smelling fresh and acts as a natural deterrent against flies and mites.

• Extensively Dust-Extracted: Thoroughly screened to remove fine dust particles, protecting the sensitive respiratory systems of your chickens, ducks, or turkeys.

• Highly Absorbent & Easy to Clean: The precision-chopped straw structure absorbs moisture exceptionally well, keeping droppings manageable and making the weekly coop muck-out quick and easy.

• Warm, Soft, and Comfy: Provides a thick, insulating layer that helps your birds feel warm, safe, and comfortable while resting or laying eggs.

• Composts Rapidly: Unlike thick wood shavings which take ages to rot down, this chopped straw bedding breaks down incredibly fast in your garden compost heap, turning into nutrient-rich soil cleaner for your vegetable patches.
