Mixed Poultry Grit 5kg Handy Pack Argo

Argo Mixed Poultry Grit (5kg Handy Pack)

Keep your laying hens healthy, strong, and productive with Argo Mixed Poultry Grit (5kg Handy Pack), available at Feed & Fleece—your local smallholding feed and bedding specialist in Cleckheaton.

This premium, dual-purpose grit is a carefully balanced blend of insoluble hard flint grit and soluble calcium-rich oyster shell. It is a fundamental addition to any poultry keeper's routine, designed to support perfect digestion and encourage the production of strong, healthy eggshells.

Why Choose Argo Mixed Poultry Grit?

Unlike wild birds, cooped or backyard poultry need a dedicated source of grit to maintain their daily health. This dual-action mix addresses their two most critical physiological needs:

• Dual-Action Formula:

  • Insoluble Flint Grit: Acts as natural "teeth" in the gizzard, physically grinding down whole grains, grass, and pellets for optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.

  • Soluble Oyster Shell: Dissolves slowly in the digestive tract, releasing a steady supply of natural calcium directly into the bloodstream to support skeletal strength and eggshell formation.

• Prevents Crop & Digestive Issues: Keeping grit available prevents feed from packing down in the crop, significantly reducing the risk of blockages and sour crop.

• Stronger, High-Quality Shells: Ideal for laying hens from point of lay onward, preventing thin, brittle, or soft-shelled eggs.

• Convenient 5kg Handy Pack: Easy to handle, pour, and store without taking up valuable space in your feed shed.
